These unique opportunities are combined with tramping and other special outdoor activities to test the children physically as well as allowing more opportunity to speak into their lives spiritually.
But the Discipleship process doesn’t stop there. Once back in their home environment, the children in turn speak into the lives of the other kids at the home. There have been some great results. Many of the children have received Christ and 3 have progressed to seminary already – but there is always the potential for many more to follow.
Missionary Ventures New Zealand is looking to recruit team members for trips in 2011 and raise support for this vital, ongoing ministry.

Pondok Kasih (the House of Love Foundation) is a dynamic Christian organisation based in East Java and reaches out to over 50 poor and marginalised communities in one of Indonesia's largest cities. Many of these communities have up to 300 people each and are situated in such places as under a motorway bridge, on garbage tips or even in a graveyard. One community comprises displaced victims of a huge mud disaster a few years ago, through which thousands or homes and livelihoods were destroyed.
Missionary Ventures' offices in Australia and New Zealand partner with Pondok Kasih to serve and assist them in this vital, growing ministry. The Foundation's Director & Founder is a passionate, inspiring visionary leader to whom God has given favour all the way up to the President of Indonesia. She makes it very clear that love is the key to all that Pondok Kasih does and breaks down walls that otherwise seem immovable.
People from Muslim, Hindu and Christian background alike are offered skills, training and other assistance such as clean water systems as a practical demonstration of God's love. It is impossible not to be inspired by her, the dedicated staff and the 100 or so community leaders across the city who are being trained to extend God's hand of love and hope to the people of Indonesia.
MV offices in Australia and New Zealand are raising support and taking more teams in 2011 to help Pondok Kasih impact countless lives with God's love in East Java.
